It has just been brought to my attention that the Mrs Rita I have a photo of is, in fact, the same Mrs Rita from the Gin Blossoms song of the same name. Neat-o.

Nothing much to report today. Took a walk downtown, had a burger at Fat Burgers, bought Moby's Play at ZIa. But I did take some pictures of my downtown, and you can see them Here(opens a new window)

The Dooce effect
After reading what happened to Heather over at dooce.com, I started to wonder if maybe I shouldn't take my name off my website. Should I be able to be fired over things I say on my website, assuming that I don't name names. How much should this be held against me. If there is no apparent impact on my work or my relations with other employees, should the type of attitude I have affect my employment? How does my attitude affect my job performance anyway? I mean, should I worry that my boss is reading this, and not say that I feel more like a consultant at work then an employee? Should I not say disparaging things about my boss? Who knows. But for now, it will remain proudly me, because I have no friends left to lose...
Sincearly,
Scott A. Lillibridge

Uncle!
I give up. I work hard all day long. Drive with the crazy on the highway to get home. Feed and water the cats, and think 'I'll take a nice ride to the coffee shop and relax.'
I look at my bike, and the rear wheel is flat.FLAT!!! I have owned this bike for all of 48 hours and the damned wheel is flat. And the bike shop is only open from 9am to 5:30pm. Hours which I am at work.
I give up, I give in. Apparently there is some higher power that doesn't want there to be a better me.
Shit.

update
I *heart* REI. They fixed my bike right up and didn't charge me anything because it took them longer then they thought. So if your going to buy a bike, go to REI. They rock.

Your Temperament is: Rational (NT)

Your Free Keirsey Temperament Description

All Rationals (NTs) share the following core characteristics:

* Rationals tend to be pragmatic, skeptical, self-contained, and focused on problem-solving and systems analysis.
* Rationals pride themselves on being ingenious, independent, and strong willed.
* Rationals make reasonable mates, individualizing parents, and strategic leaders.
* Rationals are even-tempered, they trust logic, yearn for achievement, seek knowledge, prize technology, and dream of understanding how the world works.

Rationals are the problem solving temperament, particularly if the problem has to do with the many complex systems that make up the world around us. Rationals might tackle problems in organic systems such as plants and animals, or in mechanical systems such as railroads and computers, or in social systems such as families and companies and governments. But whatever systems fire their curiosity, Rationals will analyze them to understand how they work, so they can figure out how to make them work better.

Rationals are very scarce, comprising as little as 5 to 7 percent of the population. But because of their drive to unlock the secrets of nature, and to develop new technologies, they have done much to shape our world.

Architects (INTP) | Fieldmarshals (ENTJ) | Inventors (ENTP) | Masterminds (INTJ)

Get on your bikes and ride
In my never-ending quest to build a better me, I bought a bike today. I got one of these. Not an offroader, but a nice, comfortable road bike. I will post pictures soon.

Wierdest musical segue ever
I have all my mp3s loaded up on a streaming mp3 server (icecast if you must know), so I don't do playlists anymore. I just connect to the server and it plays me music. And because of this, I have just had the strangest segue ever. 'Wake Up' by Rage Against the Machine to 'Out of My Dreams' by Bernadette Peters. Kinda unsettleing, actually.
So, what is your strangest playlist?

So I was just rereading one of the articles I linked to a couple of days ago, and thinking about the Palistinian-Isreali conflict, and this just struck me as odd..
HAMDAN: No one in Hamas can answer this question because, as you know, the military wing of Hamas is separate from the political wing. The military wing has their own commands, and they launch their attacks according to the situation on the ground.

Apparently this man is a spokesman for the political wing of Hamas, and it troubles me that he is saying, in pretty plain words, that negotiating with him means nothing. And I remember an entry on USS Clueless that pretty much summed it up. Whom are the Isrealis supposed to negotiate with then?

Personally, I think Isreal should tell the UN and the US to get bent and deal with this problem. But what do I know, I am still looking for a good history of the conflict. If you know of one, let me know

So I must wish I good friend BP to the blogging world.
Mainly, because he links to me and I just dig that stuff. But regardless, welcome to the addiction.

Have you ever fallen for someone? Have you ever fallen for someone not in your geographic sphere of influence? I did that once, or maybe more but for now lets just concentrate on the one time. I fell for someone who lived 2000 miles from me. So what did I do? I did what any self-respecting romantic would do. I found a job, packed all my necessaries in my car, got rid of the rest and moved. And so I ended up here in Tempe. Do I regret it? Sometimes yes but most times no. Mostly I regret the love lost and the friendships gone. But in moving here I have made some other friendships and gotten to know people I never knew. I see things daily that I would never have seen in Michigan. I see mountains on my commute to work. I have backpacked in the mountains. I have stood on the top of mountains I have hiked and looked for miles. But I digress.
What is the craziest thing you have done for love, or at least what you thought was love? What is the craziest thing you would do for love?
