I have been debating (with myself) the relative pros and cons of taking the bus to work.

procon
Cheaper then driving Strange morning bus people
Actually do something during the commute(i.e. read ) Longer commute( 1.5 hours each way )
Less stress from driving with all the ass-monkeys Arizona gives licences to Have to actually get up on time every day

This is all I have come up with.

My house smells yummy. In my quest to eat better, I made some sause tonight, following (loosly) what was done here . Now my house smells all onioney and baseley and spicy and good. Of course, I will be eating this for the next month, but it's so good now.

So, Sekimori had a good point here. I think I must steal all my links from her, but she has interesting links, what can I say. I am a libertarian, or something close to it. I don't believe the federal government has, or needs, as much power as it has. But I have a lot of opinions that are unpopular. I believe that we should build a huge wall around the country, but I believe that we should make it easier to become a citizan the legal way. The country was built by immigrants, and that is something we can't afford to forget. I believe that Hussan is a mad man, but I don't think that we can afford to rebuild his country. I believe the money being spent on building up an offensive military would be better spent on actual defense. Attacking another country is not defending the US. I believe that a national missile defence system would be a better then attacking Iraq. If we attack, and if we win, we as a country can not afford to spend the billions and billions required to rebuild that economy. I believe that a federal works project would be better then welfare. I believe that either a consumption tax or a true flat tax would be better then income tax, and raise more money.
There are things the federal government needs to fund, like national defence or space exploration, rather then building another welfare state or deciding how I should be allowed to listen to my music. I believe the whole race issue would be solved if we stopped treating it like an issue. I remember when I was a freshman in college. My roomate was hispanic, second generation spainard. He got a check one day, from the department of minority affairs, for $200. His father was a doctor, and he was not in need of this cash. I was/am the son of a middle class white working man. My parents had invested some money for me when I was born, which bought me 3 years of school. But because he was a 'minority' he got a check. Government at work.
Well, I've rambled about this more then I should, but one parting thought. Chances are, the immagrent family knows more what it means to be an american then the people born here. They know what it is like to not have freedom, and we all take it for granted.

You know it's going to be a great day when you wake up 20 minutes before you have to be at work, and work in a 30 minute commute away.

I distinctly remember researching this years and years ago when I worked at an ISP, but I can't find anything relating to this. How does apache negotiate name-based virtual hosts. It is my understanding that apache, if none of the virtual hosts match the host designated, it will default to the first virtual host in the config file. I seem to remember that apache makes a list in memory, and that order is important.
Am I just making things up here or does this make sense to anyone.

This gives me a happy. I have read something of his, and I think he will do a great job. Plus, His treatment of the X-Men would have been a better movie than what was put out.
Nothing but high-hopes for spidey 2

Here is the stuff that really makes me wonder about god. The war and the torment and everything else I could deal with, but this stuff really makes me wonder how someone could believe in an all-knowing, all-loving whatever. This stuff makes me want to hunt down people and kill them. A single bullet in the head. Quick and easy. Maybe there is a god and maybe I would go to hell for doing it, but it is something I would be willing to risk. I know the whole "vengance is mine" riff, but sometimes I think a little .44 calibur justice is in order. And I could deal with the whole eternal torment thing if I knew that I could stop this. Just put an end to it now.
Just as I find myself leaning towards deism, I have to read about something like this. I know that supposedly god kills puppies and grandmothers because he has a plan, but there are times where his plan seems falwed, because I don't think there is any plan that could justify this. But not being all-knowing, I suppose I am just an ignorant human.

As the US prepares to go to war, I have to wonder. Being 4F myself, I wonder what soldiers think, when they know they could die. Not in the middle of combat, with bullets flying and things exploding, but during the marching times, the waiting times. What do they think about. Do they think of home? Family? Friends? Maybe they think of lost loves, or the regrets of lives lived. I wonder. Do you know any soldiers or anyone who has been in this position? If so, let know about me. Tell them my email and have them let me know, if they care to share, what goes on during these times.

Now this is proof that human kind is pretty much going down the toilet. I'm surprised it didn't happen here in the US first.

True tales of video madness
I went to the mall to pick up a DVD tonight. As I was paying, the cashier asks 'that's a pretty old movie. Why are you buying it?'. The movie is Pretty in Pink, and to all aspiring video store clerks, a tip. Do not make the customer feel old. Not a good thing. Made me think of things though. Like my infatuation with 80's teen movies. Next movie I am picking up is probably going to be 'Some Kind of Wonderful'. After that, '16 Candles' and my personal 80's teen collection will be complete. But I am still trying to figure out why I love these movies so much. I think that I am trying to recapture my own teen years. Actually, I wish I could go back and do it all over. I think I did it wrong, but that's the thing about life. You don't ever get to start over. Even if you move 2000 miles away, you can't start over. There is no reset, unlike these wonderful computers I devote my life to. The mistakes you make are the mistakes you have to live with. and then you bitch about them online.
If you move away, though, you get to find out who your friends are. Tonight I realized that I have precious few left, and not the ones I was expecting. I have seen a 13 year friendship vanish, simply because I moved away. I have destroyed pretty much every friendship I have had in the course of the last 12 months, and I guess that is how life is. I have been slowly coming to grips with that lately.
So remember that. The friends you have are pretty much only the friends you think you have. Everyone has their own life to tend to, and if you aren't a part of it, you aren't a part of it.
