Aww yeah
Now, if the wings would just sign their damned free agents ( Yzerman, Federov, McCarty, and Larionov ), all would be good with the world.

Hmm.. I was just going over my NetFlix rental queue and noticed that there is now a 'long wait' for the movie Pillow Talk. I can't personally think of anyone else who even knows who stars in this movie let alone want's to see it. I can't imagine that there could be any kind of wait for a 1959 romantic comedy. I guess there is no accounting for taste.

Well, for the next 4 days, I will be in the Great White North (tm) know as Michigan so I can see my brothers two 18 year olds at their graduation party and feel older then I already do. Plus, as a bonus I get to see my dad for Fathers day, and the family I haven't seen in about 2 years.
So, have a good weekend everyone, and I will see you on tuesday.

I'm sorry, but doesn't this picture just scream "I'm going to kill you in your sleep. And vomit in your shoes."

I just read on Slashdot that Wal-Mart is going into the DVD Rental business, a la NetFlix. Of course, there is the general bemoaning that Wal-Mart will drive them out of business, because they have driven small stores out of business in small to mid sized towns. This, to me, is ludicrous. Wal-Mart is simply a business. The only people who can drive a company out of business is it's customers. People seem to think because Wal-Mart has lower prices, people will automatically go there. This isn't the way I see it. I will gladly spend more money for better service and a more plesant shopping environment.
Wouldn't you?

Another weekend gone. Nothing new to report, nothing interesting to say.
Didn't do a whole lot this weekend. Went to REI, went to the mall, went to the coffee shop. Finished reading 'The Thin Man', by Dashiell Hammett. Pretty interesting read, but you can see how divergent the film was. I find it interesting how in these novels from the 30s drug use and sex ( even homosexuality ) are pretty prominent, yet in the movies, all traces of this are pretty much removed.
Watched 'Drugstore Cowboy'. An interesting movie, with a good performance by Matt Dillon. I liked how it didn't really treat drugs one way or another, but they were just another part of the story.

I got really baked this weekend. I made gingersnaps w/ lemon icing, cream puffs w/ coffee rum cream, and a butter cake w/ strawberry buttercream frosting. I have also noticed that the women in the kitchen supply store don't give me strange looks since I took out the piercings. Anyhoo, the cake didn't quite turn out right, because the top layer broke while I was flipping it out of the pan. And the cream puffs didn't get flakey like they were supposed to. And I couldn't find any 9x1.5 inch cake pans ( I have 9x2 inch pans ). But the people down at the coffee shop seemed to like everything. I need to get back down there this week and retrieve my tupperware.
Also was told of a baking supply store on Indian School and 28th Street. Seems good, and they have all the supplies you need for cakes and candy making and such. Of course, all these ladies gave me and my buzz cut the stinkeye while I was in there.
